Chambre Terracotta
A Provençal-style room featuring an old-fashioned queen size bed and a private shower room, bidet and WC. The room has a private entrance to a classic balcony, accessible via an antique stone staircase covered in fragrant jasmine It also offers views of our interior courtyard where you can sit and relax in the shade of the linden trees and be surrounded by classic limestone farm walls that enclose the peaceful courtyard.

Chambre Lavande
Lavender-colored room with a king-size bed and private bathroom. The room has a private entrance to a classic balcony, accessible via an antique stone staircase covered in fragrant jasmine. It offers views of the courtyard, where you can sit and relax in the shade of the linden trees, surrounded by classic limestone walls, flowers, and a fountain that together enclose the beautiful courtyard.

Cypress Cottage
The Cypress Cottage offers beautiful views onto our landscaped pool the valley and mountains. It has a private terrace with an outdoor table and chairs as well as its own BBQ. On the ground floor, you will find a lovely French country kitchen with a dining area. The first floor is comprised of the main bedroom with its king size bed, a living room and a spacious bathroom with a shower and toilet.

Linden Cottage
Our interior courtyard, with its ancient linden trees (tilleul), is the heart of La Maison de Piolon. The Linden Cottage overlooks the courtyard, offering a peaceful setting. It also features a private terrace with table and chairs, separated from the main courtyard by hydrangea shrubs. Inside, you will find a spacious living room with a fireplace, a small yet well equipped country kitchen and a charming dining area. Upstairs, there is large main bedroom with a king-size bed and second one with a double bed. The retro-style bathroom includes a bathtub, a separate shower, and a bidet. Additionally, there is a separate toilet for added convenience.

About La Maison
La Maison de Piolon is an old farm (corps de ferme) renovated into a charming Bed and Breakfast. Upon passing the gate, you enter a stunning courtyard set around three ancient linden trees. On the valley side of the farm, there is a beautifully landscaped swimming pool with views of onto our lavender field, olive trees, vineyards, fruit trees, cypresses and our own private vegetable garden.

Mont Ventoux
The iconic Mont Ventoux offers breathtaking panoramic views of Provence, stretching all the way to the Alps and the Mediterranean on clear days. Known as the "Giant of Provence," it's a popular destination for cyclists and hikers who seek the challenge of its rugged, iconic landscape. The barren, lunar-like peak stands in striking contrast to the lush vineyards and forests below.
The location of La Maison de Piolon is ideal because you can start both biking and hiking to the summit right from our gate!
Malaucène and its market
The weekly Wednesday market in Malaucène is a vibrant showcase of local Provençal culture. Stalls overflow with fresh produce, regional cheeses, olives, artisanal breads, and handcrafted goods. It's the perfect place to experience the flavors and charm of the region, all set against the picturesque backdrop of this quaint town
Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where life rhymes with wine – its cultivation, vinification, sales, and, of course, tasting... The village pulses with energy and draws inspiration from its surroundings.
Located between the cities of Avignon and Orange, Châteauneuf-du-Pape sits at the heart of a region steeped in history, culture, and the art of living. It appears as a unique, magical place, nestled on a hill like an island rising from a sea of vineyards.
At the summit stand the remains – a wall, a tower, and the lower hall – of the castle built by the popes in the 14th century as a summer residence to escape the heat of Avignon. It was indeed the popes who initiated the first vine plantations in the commune. The castle was ransacked and partially destroyed during the Wars of Religion.
Accessible on foot via stairs leading to the top of the village, or more easily by car, the ruins offer a panoramic view of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, the Rhône River, and even Avignon with its Palais des Papes.
Les Dentelles de Montmirail
The Dentelles de Montmirail massif is renowned for climbing, hiking, and its exceptional wines. Amateur and expert climbers alike take pleasure in the challenge of its steep rock faces while also enjoying the stunning panorama. Hikers, too, find satisfaction here, thanks to its three parallel mountain chains.
This territory is famous for the crus of Beaumes-de-Venise, Vacqueyras, and Gigondas. The name "Dentelles" comes from the erosion that shaped these mountains in such a way that the rock, carved and worn by time, appears delicately sculpted like a lace ribbon with a unique silhouette, making it a paradise for climbers. "Montmirail" is derived from the Latin "mons mirabilis", meaning "admirable mountain."
Recommended Trail:
Circuit des Dentelles: A circular trail of about 10 km starting in Gigondas, leading you through vineyards and up to the spectacular Dentelles ridges. This route offers breathtaking views and is ideal for moderately experienced walkers.
Other good starting points include:
Suzette: A smaller village with excellent access to trails on the northern side.
Lafare: Another charming village serving as a gateway to the Dentelles, with beautiful vineyard views.
Beaumes-de-Venise: A larger village to the south, offering excellent trail connections and amenities.
Market Day in Vaison-la-Romaine
Every Wednesday morning, the entire center of Vaison-la-Romaine transforms into one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Provence! Stalls overflow with fresh local produce, aromatic herbs, artisanal cheeses, crusty bread, and delicious saucissons.
Stroll past colorful displays of locally grown fruits and vegetables, soak in the scents of Provençal spices, and discover beautiful fabrics and handmade crafts.
